• Shift: Day, 5x8-Hour (06:30 15:30)

• Start Times Vary: Between 06:30 to 09:30 depending on daily OR needs

• End Times Vary: Between 19:00 to 23:00 based on case load

• Weekend Coverage: Required (facility runs 7 days/week)

• On-Call: Yes, as needed

• Floating: Yes, to Outpatient Surgery Pavilion (3 OR suites)

• Start Date: 06/30/2025

• Block Scheduling: Not available

• Guaranteed Hours: Standard per contract

• Locals Accepted: Yes (within 50 miles)

• First-Time Travelers Accepted: Yes (must have 3+ years' experience if first assignment)

Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a high-volume OR covering a wide range of specialties. This role requires scrubbing experience and the ability to assist in multiple surgical disciplines. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of OR experience, including inpatient settings, and is comfortable with a rotating schedule that may involve early start or late end times. Experience with Da Vinci Xi robotic surgery is required.

Responsibilities:

• Scrub and assist in surgeries including General, Ortho, Gyn, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Vascular, and Abdominal procedures

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, surgical instruments, and supplies

• Follow infection control and aseptic techniques

• Handle and label surgical specimens appropriately

• Maintain OR equipment, ensure availability and sterility of supplies

• Float to sister outpatient OR suite as needed

• Participate in emergency call response as scheduled

• Use Epic charting system (preferred)

Key Requirements:

• 2 years of CST experience required

• Experience with Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical systems

• Scrub experience in inpatient setting is required

• Strong adaptability for a fast-paced, multi-specialty OR

• SPD experience preferred

• Weekend shifts and on-call as needed

• Must be vaccinated for COVID (primary + booster)

Education:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Experience:
Minimum 2 years of recent OR Tech experience
(3+ years required if first travel assignment)

License & Certifications:

• CST Certification (NBSTSA) Required

• BLS Certification Required

Specialties Required:

• General Surgery: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair

• Orthopedic: Total joint replacement, Laminectomy, Arthroscopy, Spinal fusion

• Gynecology: Abdominal & Vaginal Hysterectomy, D&C, C-Sections

• Urology: Prostatectomy, Nephrectomy, Cystoscopy

• Vascular: Aneurysm repair, AV fistula, Endovascular procedures

• Endoscopic/Laparoscopic Procedures

• Da Vinci Robotic Surgery (GYN/URO)

Work Settings:

• Inpatient General OR

• Ambulatory Surgery OR (Preferred)

Technical Skills & Equipment Use:

• Aseptic technique, instrument processing, universal protocol

• Radiation & laser safety

• Sterile processing and handling of scopes

• Crash cart, case cart, electrosurgical units, drills, fiber optics

• Endoscope reprocessing, washer/sterilizer

• Epic charting (preferred)
